The total value of import and export trade ranks 18th among the 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government), and the growth rate of import and export ranks 6th in the country.

Urban and rural consumer market steady recovery

Fan Wanchun, deputy director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, said that Shaanxi Province has held more than 120 promotional activities under the guidance of building a new consumption scene, carrying out trade-in of consumer goods throughout the province, speeding up the pilot project of convenient living circle, the transformation and upgrading of pedestrian streets, and the construction of night economic clusters, further improving the county business system, and supporting the development of new business type such as live e-commerce and instant retail. From January to June, the total retail sales of consumer goods in Shaanxi Province increased by 4.6 year-on-year, 2.1 percentage points faster than the first quarter, 0.9 percentage points higher than the national level, and the growth rate ranked 11th in the country. Most cities (districts) in Shaanxi Province have grown rapidly. Foreign trade import and export enterprises more dynamic

Li Jinsheng, deputy director of Xi'an Customs, said that from January to July, the number of foreign trade enterprises with import and export performance in Shaanxi Province increased to 4550, an increase of 10.2 percent. Among them, the foreign trade momentum of the private economy continued to strengthen, and the number of private enterprises increased to 4088, an increase of 12.2 percent, accounting for nearly 90 percent of the total number of enterprises with import and export performance. From January to July, the import and export of private enterprises reached 101.11 billion billion yuan, an increase of 4.3 percent, accounting for 38.3 percent of the total import and export value of Shaanxi Province.

The number of enterprises with the highest credit rating certified by the customs in Shaanxi Province, that is, AEO enterprises, reached 51, accounting for less than 2% of the number of enterprises, contributing nearly 60% of the import and export value of Shaanxi Province.

More diversified international market layout

"From January to July, Shaanxi Province imported and exported 147.23 billion billion yuan to the countries that jointly built the'Belt and Road', an increase of 22.1 percent, accounting for 55.8 percent of the total import and export value, and the proportion increased by 3.5 percentage points." Li Jinsheng said.

As representatives of emerging markets and developing countries, the BRICS countries have become a new growth point in Shaanxi's foreign trade. From January to July, Shaanxi Province's import and export to the other nine BRICS countries was 42.7 billion billion yuan, an increase of 48.7 percent, 34.2 percentage points higher than the import and export growth rate of Shaanxi Province in the same period. Among them, imports and exports to Russia, Brazil and India increased by 24.6, 93.1 and 79.9 respectively. Trade with traditional markets also increased to varying degrees, with imports and exports to South Korea, Hong Kong, China, and the United States increasing by 36.3 per cent, 35.9 per cent, and 8.7 per cent, respectively.

Bananas, fish and shrimp, cocoa and coffee from Ecuador will also enter the market of Shaanxi Province with "zero tariff.

Product competitive advantage is increasingly prominent

"The 'fist products' exported and imported by Shaanxi Province are all integrated circuits, accounting for 36.7 per cent of the total export value and 50.3 per cent of the total import value." Li Jinsheng introduced that from January to July, Shaanxi Province exported 65.2 billion yuan of integrated circuits and imported 43.36 billion yuan, an increase of 19.3 and 47.2 respectively. In the context of the improvement of the global semiconductor market, the import and export of integrated circuits has rebounded, driving the steady growth of Shaanxi's foreign trade.

In addition to integrated circuits, from January to July, the main growth points of Shaanxi's exports included automobiles, agricultural products, steel and other commodities, with exports increasing by 1.2 times, 32.8 percent and 33.2 percent respectively.

Since the beginning of this year, the export of labor-intensive products in Shaanxi Province has recovered strongly. From January to July, the export of labor-intensive products in Shaanxi Province was 6.59 billion yuan, an increase of 32.3 percent, of which the export of textile yarn and its products was 1.63 billion yuan, an increase of 35.1 percent; the export of clothing and clothing accessories was 1.59 billion yuan, an increase of 37.7 percent; and the export of shoes and boots was 1.01 billion yuan, an increase of 27.8 percent. The development of labor-intensive industries can effectively stimulate employment and effectively promote the increase of people's income.

Li Jinsheng said that on the whole, Shaanxi's foreign trade has made a strong start this year and maintained a good growth trend. A series of preferential policies and support measures have been effective, boosting the steady increase in the scale of foreign trade in Shaanxi Province and the improvement in quality, laying a solid foundation for achieving the goal of "quality increase and quantity stability" in foreign trade throughout the year.
