Apocynum venetum

Apocynum venetum (L. venetum., Apocynum), is a subshrub of the Apocynum genus of the Apocynum family, Apocynum. Stems erect, much branched; leaves opposite, leaf blade elliptic-lanceolate or ovoid-lanceolate; corolla campanulate, pink; follicles double, pendulous, long angular; seeds hairy; flowering 6-7 months; fruiting 7-8 months. Apocynum root can clear away heat and diuresis, treat edema, urination is unfavorable (edema and less urine) and have heat image. Its tender leaves are steamed, fried and kneaded when tea is drunk, which has the functions of cooling and removing fire, preventing dizziness and strengthening heart. Hemp stalks can be used as warm building materials after peeling and the roots contain alkaloids for medicinal purposes.
